1 pint strawberries

1/3 cup white sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Wash strawberries, remove stems and roughly chop them. Combine strawberries, sugar and vanilla extract in medium saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Cook for five minutes, stirring and breaking strawberries up with a wooden spoon constantly.

Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly. If you have a glass blender you need to cool the sauce just slightly, for a plastic blender cool the sauce completely before blending.

When cool enough, transfer mixture to blender and pulse until desired consistency is reached. The sauce we made is pulsed completely and there are no large chunks left, but if you like you can leave some. However you make it, it will be delicious.

Serving size is about one tablespoon, so you will have plenty of sauce, this will make about 20 servings or so.
