Delicious, homemade popcorn shrimp full of flavor and perfect for parties, gatherings, lunch, dinner or just when you crave that perfect seafood dish.
Popcorn Shrimp
Ingredients:
1 bag of medium shrimp (50 – 60 shrimp per bag)
3 large eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
1 tablespoon parsley flakes
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper by taste
Oil for frying
Ketchup or cocktail sauce for serving (optional)
Directions:
Defrost shrimp according to the bag.
In a medium bowl mix flour and breadcrumbs. In another mix eggs, salt, pepper, paprika, parsley and garlic powder.
In a large frying pan (or if you have you can use your deep fryer) heat oil. Dip each shrimp into the egg mixture than toss it in the breadcrumbs/flour mixture to coat generously.
Fry shrimps until they are golden brown color about 4 minutes or so.
Serve popcorn shrimp with cocktail sauce, ketchup, lemon, as a side dish, appetizer, or over salad.
