Coffee Lovers Dream Cake

This delicious cappuccino cake is a dream come true for all coffee lovers. With amazing flavor in every bite, everyone will love it no matter the occasion.

Cappuccino Cake

  • Ingredients for the Cake:

1 box of Devil’s Food cake mix

1 box of Vanilla cake mix (or any yellow cake mix)

  • Ingredients for the Filling:

1 (16 oz.) cream cheese frosting

2 cups instant coffee, made and cooled

  • Ingredients for the Glaze:

1 cup of powder sugar

1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 tablespoons of coffee liquor

  • Ingredients for the Garnish:

Whipped topping (optional)

Fresh raspberries (optional)

Chocolate shavings (optional)

Directions:

Make both cake mixes according to the packaging. Bake both chocolate and vanilla cake and when done, cool completely. While your cakes are cooling, make your instant coffee. Cool completely. When your cakes are cool enough, cut the chocolate cake in the half. You will need two of the chocolate, so they should be about the same size. The vanilla cake should be in the middle when you assemble the cake, and a bit thicker than the chocolate ones.

Take the plate or board where you will keep the cake. On the bottom place one of your chocolate cakes. Pour coffee over the cake, not all of it, but enough to cover the cake top. Spread a thin layer of cream cheese frosting over the cake. Than place the vanilla cake on top of it. And do the same with the coffee. Pour coffee on top of the vanilla cake to cover the top. Repeat with the cream cheese frosting like above. Than add the last chocolate cake on the top. Again pour your remaining coffee on the top, and spread the cream cheese frosting on top.

Now that your cake is assembled put it in the refrigerator while you make the glaze. For the glaze, in a bowl combine 1 cup of powder sugar, vanilla extract and about 2 tablespoons of coffee liquor. Add coffee liquor 1 tablespoon at a time to allow the mixture to mix well and have the drizzling consistency. Once your glaze is done, take your cake out of the refrigerator and drizzle your glaze all over the top of your cake. Place back in the refrigerator.

Serving suggestion: Add tablespoon of whipped topping to slice of your cappuccino cake and add fresh raspberries or chocolate shavings!
