He lives with his family in the suburban wilderness, where they are fond of planting things and gawking at butterflies, toads, and birds. As a child, he was known to play in his backyard for hours amidst mud, fireflies, and other analog kids. As a grownup, Dr. John s major clinical and research interests are the effects of electronic media on young children, and reading and play as healthy alternatives.
