Protein Packed Perfect for Summer Fish Burgers

We told you about Swai Fish before and all its benefits when we shared the Swai Fillets Over Couscous recipe. Doing the summer we all love and crave a good burger, whether it be meat, fish or veggie one. We love fish burgers because they are perfect for summer, filling yet light, full of protein and good for you fats. Next time you are craving a burger try this one. It’s delicious when done on the stove or on the grill!

Swai Fish Burgers Recipe

Swai Fish Burgers


1.5 lbs (24 oz) Swai fillets, thawed (Note: you can also use other white fish fillets in this recipe.)

1 large egg

1 cup original breadcrumbs

1 teaspoon dry parsley flakes

1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder

1 or 2 dashes of hot red pepper flakes

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons of olive oil for frying (or you can skip this part and grill and only lightly brush burgers with oil)


Cut fish into large pieces and put about half of the fish into a food processor with one egg. Pulse until it becomes almost pasty. Place into a bowl. Than place the remaining fish into food processor and pulse on and off until roughly chopped.

Combine with the rest of the fish in the bowl and add seasonings and breadcrumbs. Mix well and form into 4 large patties (or 6 if you make them smaller).

In a large non-stick skillet add oil and heat it over medium/high heat. Add fish and cook about 4 to 5 minutes on each side.

If you are grilling your burgers, just brush them lightly with oil on each side and grill for 4 to 6 minutes per side.

Serve anyway you like your burgers. On the picture the Swai Fish Burger is served on fresh lettuce with fresh tomato and a teaspoon of Southwest Spicy Mustard.
