Chocolate Dipped Cherries Recipe
Quick way to a delicious dessert. Perfect for special occasions or just when you feel up to it!
Chocolate Dipped Cherries
40 maraschino cherries with stems (packed in very heavy syrup), drained well
2 cups (12 ounces) white chocolate morsels (you can use regular chocolate too, or mix both white and dark)
2 cups grated white chocolate (same as above you can use both chocolates)
Note: if using both white and dark chocolate than use cup of each for both melted and grated!
40 mini cupcake liners (optional if you don’t have them you can use a plate or cookie sheet lined with parchment paper or waxed paper)
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or waxed paper, if using that. If using cupcake liners line them on a cookie sheet. Pat cherries dry with paper towels. Melt chocolates in stainless steel bowl set over pan of simmering water, stirring until smooth. Holding stem of cherry, dip cherry into melted chocolate to coat than into grated chocolate. Transfer chocolate dipped cherry to prepared cookie sheet or mini cupcake liner. Repeat with remaining cherries and melted and grated chocolate.
Refrigerate for about 40 minutes, or until set.
Note: You can make the cherries even more special by dipping 20 in melted white chocolate than in regular dark grated chocolate, and the other way, 20 in dark melted chocolate than in grated white. It makes cherries look even more delicious!
