Soft and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

2 cups all purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 and 1/2 sticks (12 tablespoons) butter, melted

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

1 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 eggs

1 and 1/2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips

Directions:

In a medium bowl mix together flour, salt and baking soda. In another medium bowl mix butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar until well combined. Add in eggs and vanilla extract. Mix well. Add in dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes so that the cookie dough can firm up.

Preheat oven to 325F. Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper, set aside.

Take the cookie dough out of the refrigerator and with a cookie dough scoop (or a tablespoon) take dough and form into balls placing them on the prepared baking sheets about 1 to 2 inches apart.

Put one cookie sheet to bake in the oven and store another one in the refrigerator until ready to bake if you can’t bake them both at once.

Bake until cookies are set around outer edges and centers are still soft and puffy. About 10 to 13 minutes per baking sheet.

Cool cookies on cookie sheets. Serve warm or when cooled completely. Store cookies in an airtight container after they have completely cooled.
