New York’s Museum Mile is a top family attraction. Now, young visitors to this famous stretch of Fifth Avenue can enjoy it from a whole new perspective. Two new books, Chet the Architect: Learn to Draw New York City’s Fifth Avenue Museum Mile and Chet the Architect: Museum Mile Pocket Edition, written and illustrated by Kathryn Koller, enhance the Museum Mile experience by introducing kids to nine of the museums using simple architectural concepts and fun, interactive elements.
Fun architectural facts for each museum, and pages where you can draw and color. A step-by-step guide to help you draw each museum, with a spot to draw it yourself. After each museum, a blank page where you can be the architect and make your own museum.
Inside find Chet’s journal, which is a map and guide to 9 museums along 5th Avenue. Full of cool architectural facts about each museum, and it’s an accordion, so you can pull it out and view all of the museums along the mile. And don’t miss the Word from the Bird!
Both of these books have beautiful illustrations and they are a wonderful guide to any museum lover. Kids will love learning more about the New York’s Museum Mile while having an opportunity to create something on their own. Wonderful books that can provide hours of imaginative play, something different that you and your kids will love. Definitely a recommendation to check out once they are available.
